Mr. Mahbub Hossain Mazumdar, FCMA is currently the Chief Executive Officer of AFC Capital Limited in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has been working here from 2011. Prior to this he was a Controller (in the Rank of Associate Professor) with the Department of Accounting of Southeast University from 2005-2010. He is also faculty member and examiner of ICMAB.
His previous professional experience includes Controlling Manager (Finance & Admin) of Bata Shoe Co. from 2003 to 2005. During these years he contributed his expertise to Bata Shoe Co. and introduced better Cost Accounting Method. Before joining Bata Shoe Co. Mr. Mazumdar also worked as the CFO & Company Secretary of Grameen Software & Grameen IT Park from 1999 to 2003. It is notable that Grameen Software & Grameen IT Park was the first IT based venture in Bangladesh.
His publications includes “Book-building and its Significance in better IPO” and “Trade Facilitation in Bangladesh: Hindrances and needed Initiatives for Export Competitiveness”.
He completed his CMA degree at ICMAB in 1996-1997. He got his FCMA in 2005. He did M.Com degree in Accounting at University of Dhaka in 1990.
Mr. Mazumdar appears for building awareness in many shows in Ekushe TV, Independent TV and Boishakhi TV. This CSR derives from his sense of responsibilities.
Mr. Mazumdar is working with anti tobacco-drug campaign for last decade. It is good to know that he was involved of building many Drug Rehabilitation Centers. Besides, he is member of different social and corporate societies.
